A wire barrier is being erected on Lithuania’s border with Belarus

To better control the flow of illegal migrants from Belarus, the Lithuanian border with that country, near Druskininkai, is starting to be equipped with a wire barrier on Friday.

“The military should start installing it,” Lithuanian State Border Guard Service (LBGS) spokesman Giedrius Mishutis told BNS on Friday. He claims it will be installed in a 30-kilometre stretch. “The border guards are not involved in the construction, they have only indicated the most troublesome section,” said the SOGL representative.
