Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in history to score goals in five World Cups.

For the 37-year-old Ronaldo, the tournament in Qatar was the fifth in his career – previously only four players in history have achieved such success – Antonio Carbajal, Rafael Marquez, Lothar Matheus and Lionel Messi.

In the group stage match against Ghana, Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 65th minute to open the scoring for his goals in Qatar.

In total, Ronaldo has scored 118 goals in 192 matches for Portugal since 2003.
